Airsoft Defending and Attacking Tactics
While looking like a bush and carrying up-to-date equipment will truly help your game, if you are in the wrong place you are not going to be any good to anyone. This is because it is just as important to be in the right place as it is to use the right equipment.
The first thing that you need to understand is that you are part of a team, so in order to win you need to work as a team and have good communication. This is why the most effective sniper is the one that does not think that they are one. You do not want to ever form a pattern or else others will be able to predict what you are going to do, as well as where and when you will do it.
It is a good idea to find out as much about the area that you are playing in as possible: the type of ground, vegetation, the other team's strengths and anything else that could be helpful. Once you have this basic information, make sure that your teammates also have this information so that they do not accidentally shoot you.
Attacking
Of course, you will also want to know as much as possible about what you are using, who is on your team and what they will be doing, as well as who you are attacking before you even think of attacking anything or anyone. Instead, you need to take all of this into account and work with your team to find a way in which to launch this attack. This depends upon what your objective is: to cover your teammates, taking out those who pose a threat to your team or storming the compound.
Defending
On the other hand, you will find that defense is harder because you are usually defending an object from being captured, not preventing a person from being shot. Herein you will need to work from somewhere that gives you cover while still allowing you to be able to defend the object. This is why many people find this to be the hardest form of skirmishing.
Sometimes it is easier to simply allow the sniper to defend an object. The second easiest thing to do is set up ambushes, which is actually very helpful for snipers. Other ways to help the sniper is by sending out a roving patrol and counting how many people there are on the other team. Any of this information that you can provide for the sniper will truly help them to be better equipped to do their job. Therefore, if you are a part of the patrol, then you should know that you have an important job in helping the sniper. Herein you want to use the element of surprise to your advantage, be sure to attack from many different angles and while they are on the attack.
Remember to think as though you were at war with this other team. After all, that is what this game is all about.
